Switching designed for 1G AV over IP with PoE+, Ultra90 PoE++ and rear connectors (depending on model) ensuring clean integration into AV racks. M4250 switches are pre-configured for standard audio and video signals. If requirements are more specific, an AV user interface offers customization with port-based profiles. For audio, Dante, Q-SYS and AES67 profiles are available, as well as an AVB profile that requires an AVB license, which is sold separately. For video, the M4250 offers profiles for NVX, SVSI, Q-SYS, NDI, Dante, etc. as well as mixed audio/video/control profiles. If multiple switches are present, NETGEAR IGMP Plus provides automation so you can easily connect them together.

M4250 Audio Video Bridging (AVB) Support

One of the many features of the new M4250 product line is full support for Audio Video Bridging (AVB), an industry standard for transporting content over a network. AVB is most commonly used when very low latency is required, such as in live performances where lip-sync is critical. All AV Line M4250 switches can be optionally licensed for AVB support.

Power over Ethernet (PoE)

With Power over Ethernet, you can supply compatible devices with power via the network cable. Especially for end devices such as wireless access points, IP telephones and IP cameras, this reduces the cabling effort and at the same time gives you a high degree of flexibility in the placement of the end devices.

802.3at PoE+

The IEEE 802.3at standard offers a maximum of 25.4 watts of power on each PoE+ port with a voltage of up to 50 volts. The standard assumes that 21.90 watts of usable power remain or may be consumed after line losses in order not to exceed the maximum power output. For PoE+, a Cat5e/6 cable with a maximum length of 100m is recommended.
